Honeymoon Pictures

Our 12-passenger Cessna from Belize City to the city of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye (the largest island off the coast).  A real highlight...

...especially because we had front row seats.  If the pilot had gone down it would have been up to me!

The "honeymoon suite."  This was our bedroom in our cabana at Salamander Hideaway.

Our surroundings.  We had a "jungle cabana," which meant you had to walk 20 seconds to the beach instead of 8.

At our request they grabbed a coconut (one fell every few minutes), hacked it open with a machete and stuck a straw in it.

The turquoise waters of the Caribbean, with Ambergris Caye in the background.

Homework in a hammock.

Our cabana.  Big enough for a bathroom downstairs and a bed upstairs...and that's about it.

The pier at our beach.  You can see the breakers in the background where the 2nd largest reef in the world sits.  Twice we kayaked out and snorkeled...and got sunburned.

On to Nicaragua: Our bungalow was on a ridge a few minutes from the beach.  They also had little cabanas on the beach to use.  We logged a few hours in this thing.

The view from the swinging bridge we had to cross every day.  Below is our beach and all around is the 5,000 acre protected tropical forest...chalk full of jungle animals: boa constrictors, ant eaters, sloths, howler monkeys, all kinds of birds and this one nasty, hairy spider.

And don't forget the newborn sea turtles.  These were born hours before this picture was taken.

Howler monkeys.  They should be called barking monkeys.

Back at our beach.

Sunset on the Pacific.

This is our attempt at a Corona commercial.
